In 1970-1971 Doc began talks with Mrs. Hackman to purchase the land from the creek to the end of her property (14 fairway and maintenance area). After a year of negotiations, the land purchase was finalized.
As the club improved and grew its membership it was time to make Bogey an 18-hole golf course. Denny (Doc’s son) and Wayne Clark laid out the plans for the additional 9-holes. This involved changing the hole numbering on the original 9-holes. For example, the original fifth hole would be the eighteenth hole, with the sixth hole now being the tenth, and the fourth hole is now seventeen. Eventually the lake was added on hole 18 to make it more challenging to golfers and to create a beautiful view from the clubhouse. During this time the clubhouse renovated the kitchen and dining areas as well as card rooms and expanded the locker rooms
